This permit application is simple and straightforward, requiring only information on the company name and registration information, the type of permit which the firm is seeking, and a declaration of the firm’s chosen regulatory framework. Importantly, obtaining permits is voluntary and permits are usually issued within 7 business days. Keep in mind that if you are not in compliance in regard to other matters, such as taxes or regulatory insurance, a permit will not be issued until you have brought your operations in to compliance.

A Permit Grants Sovereign Immunity
Under Section 11.11(5) of the Charter of Próspera, private persons become clothed with sovereign immunity from monetary liability claimed against them by any National or Municipal Authority of Honduras as a result of acting in subjective good-faith reliance upon a Rule promulgated or permit issued by Próspera within the scope of its jurisdiction and authority under Articles 294, 303, and 329 of the Constitution of the Republic of Honduras, the ZEDE Organic Law, and the Charter. This is a key practical reason to obtain a permit even though permitting is voluntary.
