An approved entity's formation document is generated during formation and remains available in Documents. This is different from a Certificate of Good Standing, which is a separate, current-status certificate.
Which document should I expect?
- An LLC receives a Certificate of Organization.
- A for-profit corporation receives Articles of Incorporation.
- Other entity types receive the formation document applicable to that type.
There is no separate $25 request or payment to download the original formation document issued during an approved formation.
Download the document
Log in to the ePróspera portal and select Documents.
Select the entity under My Entities.
Find the formation document for the entity type, such as Certificate of Organization or Articles of Incorporation.
Select Download beside the document.
Formation document versus Good Standing
The formation document records the entity's creation. A Certificate of Good Standing is requested separately when you need a current certificate showing the entity's status.
If a document is missing
First confirm that the entity formation was approved and that you selected the correct entity in Documents. If an expected document is still missing, contact support through the portal help chat.
